Task 2 Presentation (other) Flashcards
What is Little C creativity?
doing everyday procedures in novel ways
What is Big C creativity?
product that is judged to be novel and useful
What is Pro C creativity?
developed within existing domains of knowledge but isn’t paradigm busting
What does the individualist approach of creativity entail?
- > creativity is a new mental combination that is expressed in the world
- unique and original
- extraordinary
- involves combinations
What is the socio-cultural approach of creativity?
- > creativity depends on individual talent, existing info and judgement by expert
- domain of knowledge
- change component of the domain to produce smth novel
- experts decide if novelty will be accepted
Which kinds of decisions are machines programmed to make? What benefits result?
- > Machines are programmed to make utilitarian decisions
- utilitarian: maximizing the greatest good for the greatest number of people
- AI can make decision without emotional attachment to intended benefits
- Machines maximize positive outcome (utilitarian algorithm)
What is Creativity 4.0?
System model, where indiv. /group program AI to perform tasks and process info in a specific way
How does Creativity 4.0 work? What happens if AI improves?
- As AI improves -> begins to make new combinations that are independent from the original info provided by individual
- Deep learning -> trial and error
What are cognitive heuristics that lead to creativity?
Problem finding Knowledge acquisition Information collection Incubation Divergent thinking Combination Convergent thinking (categorizing --> selecting the best idea)
What is uniquely human? What did AI not be able to do yet?
- Adapting to novel situations is critical and uniquely human -> AI didn’t fully reach this ability
- Emotional reasoning beyond utilitarianism cannot be replicated by AI for now
