Develop personal skills
- Encourages young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to develop literacy and numeracy so they can get a job and contribute to community. This is done through mentors providing guidance.
Strengthen community action
- It is delivered by community leaders, sports stars and local community members in which young people respect and admire.

Why were the dietary guidelines created?
- Assist Australians with developing healthy dietary patterns to promote h+w in community.
- Reduce the risk of diet-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes.
- Reduce the risk of developing chronic conditions such as CVD.
Dietary guideline 1
Achieve and maintain a healthy weight, be physically active and choose nutritious foods and drinks to meet energy needs.
Dietary guideline 2
Enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods from the following five food groups everyday and drink plenty of water.
Dietary guideline 3
Limit intake of foods containing saturated fat, added salt, added sugars and alcohol. (Discretionary foods)

Encourage, support and promote breastfeeding
