Kate is shown to have ‘perhaps’ have changed from a shrewish character to a character who obeys her husband, however, Kate may not be meaning what she says in her final speech, and may just be saying what Petruchio wants to hear, and to one up the other women.

The expectation that all women should act how Kate does in her final speech, it is seen as desirable and admired by the men as Kate isn’t shrewish anymore, and Petruchio is praised for this.
