Disease cycle of Gaeumannomyces graminis var.avenae on turfgrass:

A

Mycelium inserts Simple Hyphopodia into root tissue, begins to suck nutrients out, plant health decreases and eventually dies as hyphae slowly moves to its next host to do it again.

  • High soil pH
  • Low Manganese!!

  • Add Manganese Sulfate 2-6lb/year

A
  • Begin treatments when soil stabilizes at 65°F at 2” depth
  • use High label rates
  • Use at least 2 gallons water/1000
  • April and May when soil temps reach 40°F - 60°F
  • Treat at 28 day intervals
  • Add Primo to the program
