Systems Questions Flashcards
Describe the engine in your plane.
Lycoming O320-E2D, 150 HP, Naturally asperated air-cooled, horizontally opposed engine
Describe the prop in your plane
Sinenich fixed pitch prop - this one happens to be pitched for cruise
Describe the landing gear in your plane.
All three landing gear are the the oleo type. This means that they are constructed of a piston with in a housing tube that is suspended with nitrogen gas and dampened with 5606 hydraulic fluid.
Describe the fuel system in your plane.
The fuel system has a fuel tank in each wing that can hold 25 (24 Usable) gallons of fuel. The fuel is drawn out by a combination of an electrically driven fuel pump, and an engine driven fuel pump.
Describe the flight instruments in your plane.
Romeo has a standard altimeter, airspeed indicator, & VSI. It also has a duel Garmin G5 EFIS for attitude indicator and HSI. The Turn/Rate Indicator is also the autopilot computer for the STEC 30 Autopilot
Describe the electrical system in your plane.
14 volt DC Electrical system with one battery and one alternator
Describe the flight control system in your plane.
Romeo has cable flight controls and manual flaps.
Know ALL V-speeds for your airplane.
VSO= 55
VR = 60
VS=64
VX = 75
VY = 85
VG = 80
VFE= 115
VA=129
VNO= 141 Maximum Structural Cruising Speed
VNE= 171
What do you do if a door opens in flight?
Land and close it on the ground.
Be able to determine crosswind component, takeoff distance, climb performance, cruise performance, landing distance, and weight and balance.
Use your POH to determine aircraft performance and weight and balance.
What can you expect from an airplane loaded with an aft cg?
AFT CG: Higher true airspeed, lower stall speed, less stable.
What can you expect from an airplane loaded with an forward cg?
FORWARD CG: Lower true airspeed, higher stall speed, more stable.
