Normal / Minimum / Maximum Hydraulic Pressure
3000 psi normal
2800 psi minimum
3500 psi maximum
When does Standby system operate automatically?
Loss of system A/B
Flaps Extended
Flight or Wheel Speed > 60kts
FLT CONTROL switch A/B ON
When does Standby Hydraulic LOW QUANTITY annunciator illuminate?
When fluid drops below 50%
How is the standby hydraulic system fluid filled?
From Hydraulic System B
If all fluid leaks from standby reservoir the system B reservoir will be drained to approximately 72% as this is where the connection pipe is attached
Minimum fuel for ground operation of electric hydraulic pump?
1,675 lbs in associated Main fuel tank
Fuel is used to cool pump through heat exchanger in main tanks
What causes OVERHEAT light to illuminate?
Over heating condition of EITHER hydraulic fluid OR electric pump
Engine driven pump must be manually shut off
Electric driven pump will shut down automatically
When does the Landing Gear Transfer Unit operate automatically?
- Aircraft in flight
- No 1 engine fails
- Landing Gear lever UP
- Either gear is not UP and locked
When does PTU operate automatically?
- System B Engine Driven Pump fails
- Aircraft is in flight
- Flaps between 0 and 15, but not UP
- Flaps not UP on 737-800 series
PTU operates leading edge Flaps and Slats
