What is the MAX FUEL QUANTITY in each of the tank systems?
- MAINS 4,860 lbs per wing
- AUX 7,168 lbs
- TAIL 3112 lbs
Total fuel of 20,000lbs
What is the sequence of fuel transfer in flight?
- MAINS to 93%
- AUX to MAINS
- TAIL to AUX
What does an “AUTO INHIBIT” EICAS caution indicate?
- ROTOR BURST PROTECTION CYLINDER nitrogen press low
- Automatic fuel transfer has been disabled
Can the TAIL TANK be refueled by gravity?
No
From which tanks can fuel be dumped?
TAIL tank system only
How many hydraulic pumps are there?
6
With B pumps switches in AUTO, when will the pumps operate?
Anytime flaps are not at ZERO.
If the left engine fails, can you restore #1 hydraulic system pressure?
Yes, turn 1B on.
Which hydraulic systems power the left aileron and elevator?
Systems #1 and #3
What is the NOMINAL PRESSURE of each hydraulic system?
3000psi
Where are the hydraulic accumulators and what is their minimum pressure?
- # 1 and #2 IN AFT EQUIPMENT BAY
- # 3 IN RIGHT WHEEL WELL
- min pressure of 1500psi
Which hydraulic system is used to retract the landing gear?
3
What is the function of the priority valve on system 3?
To give priority to the FLIGHT CONTROLS and INBOARD BRAKES
What do the L&R HEAT lights indicate?
Sufficient heat for wing anti-ice (29c)
What changes when the WSHLD switches are set from LOW to HIGH?
The windshields go HIGH; the windows remain LOW.
What happens to the wing and cowl anti-ice during T/R operation? Why?
- ANTI-ICE functions are inhibited
- 14 stage bleed air gives priority to the T/R.
What is the FAIL SAFE MODE of the ADSHCs?
ON
What does ADSHC mean?
Air Data Sensor Heat Controler
How does the wing anti-ice system operate in NORMAL and STANDBY mode?
- NORMAL mode regulates valves to maintain L.E. temp (88c)
- STANDBY mode valves fully OPEN or CLOSED the temp varies (49c-82c)
How doe the ice detector work and what is the heating cycle?
- Ice accumulation changes the probe’s vibration freq
- 5 seconds of heat followed by 55 seconds of no heat
Where are the ANTI-ICE DUCTS located?
Aft equipment bay; under the cabin; along the wings.
What sensor triggers a “WING OVERHEAT” warning?
SUFFICIENT HEAT/OVERHEAT SENSOR (end of wing leading edge)
14th stage bleed valves fail ________________?
Open
How is a bleed air leak detected on the wings?
There are 38 total heat detection switches on the backside of the wing bleed ducts.
What is the purpose of the SUPPLEMENTARY GROUND ANTI-ICE system?
To provide adequate anti-icing during ground operations without hearing the wing to high enough values to “bake” the anti-ice fluid to the wing.
This is useful for taxiing to position to abound ground ice accumulation before taking the active.
How warm are the windows/windshields in LOW mode?
Windshields 41c
Windows 41c
How warm are the windows/windshields in high mode?
Windshields 58c
Windows 41c
What must be on for the L(R) Probes to work?
An engine driven generator
Which hydraulic system does the ADG power?
