What is the primary purpose of the ALTITUDE pre-selector?
To command the aircraft to capture and maintain an altitude.
What happens when you push the XFER button on the flight control panel?
It couples the autopilot and the flight director to the other side.
When you press the XFR button what else should you also change?

Does pressing the AFCS SEL switch from 1 to 1 change the flight director?
No, you get the same flight director but the backup FCC (flight control computer).
Which flight control surfaces does the autopilot trim?
Only the horizontal stab.
How many IRS systems are needed to engage the autopilot?

- Fail (passive)
- Integrated with flight director
What is required to engage the autopilot?
- two independent IRS sources
- At least one yaw damper engaged (AP does not auto engage)
- AP disconnect switch in normal position
- No faults detected on act e FCCs
- No excessive instability (pitch/roll/yaw rates or attitudes; G-load)
What does TURB mode do?
-Reduces pitch and roll gains of AP
Disconnects with AP disconnect, pushing of TURB button, or when capturing LOC.
Which hydraulic system operates the ground spoilers?
