When should you consider systemic disease with skin symptoms?
Constitutional symptoms. Signs and symptoms that relate to other body symptoms
What is Jaundice caused by?
Build up of urobilinogen that is deposited into skin and mucous membranes
Cholestatic Jaundice
Unrelenting itching. Caused by slowing or topping of bile flow (often due to a blockage from liver to gallbladder or GB to small intetestine)
Spider angiomata
Vascular lesions with central arteriole surrounded by many smaller vessels. Commonly on trunk, face, and upper limbs
Thought to be from alterations in sex hormone metabolism related to cirrhosis
