Lupus rashes esp facial rash – often photosensitive (precipitated by UV light exposure)

Sparing of naso-labial fold

Anti- Sm - specific but low sensitivity
Anti Ro, anti La and anti- RNP (may be seen)
Low complement levels shows active disease
