Interrogative
Poses a question, generally ends with a question mark
Declarative
Declares something that does not have to be true
Imperative
Gives commands, demands or requests. Ends in a full stop- not a question
Exclamative
Expresses a strong emotion. A purpose to emphasise something
Subject
A person, place, thing or idea that sentence is about. ‘Main character’
Verb
Action words that denote an action, process or state
Object
Part of a clause that provides additional information to the subject/verb. Extra info on action
Predicate
Main verb and all other elements of a clause that come after the subject
Noun phrase
Verb phrase
Prepositional phrase
Adjective phrase
Adverb phrase
Independent clause
Dependent clause
