What is a Questionare
A formalised set of questions, written or verbal, for obtaining information from respondents and collecting primary data.
What is the structure of questions
Unstructured Questions - open-ended questions that respondents answer in their own words.
Structured Questions - closed-ended (pre-coded) questions that specify the set of response alternatives and the response format
Describe the main scaling techniques
Comparative Scale - Paired Comparison, Rank Order, Constant Sum, Q-sort & other procedures
Non comparative Scale - Continuous rating scales & Itemised rating scales
What is a scale
a set of answer options - either numeric or verbal - that covers a range of opinions on a topic
What is the broad questionnaire design process
1) plan what to measure
2) Formulate questions
3) Deciding on wording and order of questions
4) pre-test the questionnaire and correct problems
