18
Q

What does the arrow next to the TCAS symbols mean?

A

Climb or descent rate of more than 500 ft/min

19
Q

When will you get RAs?

A

Above 1100 ft in a climb or 900 ft in a descent

20
Q

What do the RMPs do?

A

Radio Management Panel

  • give flight crew control of all VHF radio comms systems
  • provide back up to FMGCs for controlling radio nav systems
21
Q

Which RMP do you get in EMER ELEC CONFIG?

A

Only RMP 1

22
Q

What are the CIDS?

A

Cabin Intercommunication Data Systems

  • two directors connected in parallel one active, one standby
  • transmits, controls and processes signals for lots of cabin systems
  • main componenets are the FAP and attendant panels and DEUs (decoder/encoder units)
23
Q

What are the two DEUs?

A

Type A - for passengers, including call button, lighted signs

Type B - for attendants, installed near exit doors, smoke detectors, handsets, slide and door pressure sensors

24
Q

How long does the CVR record for?

A

2 hours

25
Q

When does the CVR record automatically?

A
  • on ground during the first 5 min after electrical network is energised
  • on ground with one engine running
  • in flight
  • on ground until 5 mins after the last engine shutdown
  • on ground when the GND CTL pb is pressed
26
Q

How many ATC transponders?

A

Two

27
Q

Which modes can weather data be displayed?

A

ARC or ROSE

28
Q

What does the Ground Clutter Suppression function do for weather radar?

A

Removes ground returns from the ND

(not available in manual mode)

29
Q

What warning will you get with a windshear caution?

A

‘MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY’

W/S AHEAD on PFD

30
Q

Range for windshear warnings and cautions on take off?

A

3 nm

31
Q

Ranger for windshear cautions on landing?

A

1.5 nm to 0.5 nm

Between 370 ft and 50 ft

32
Q

What colour is turbulence on the weather radar?

A

Magenta

33
Q

What height are the five basic modes active?

A

Up to 2500 ft
