Surah Al-Ma'un ( The Small Kindnesses )

Question 1

Surah Ma’un Verse 1:

أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ١

Ara ‘aytal lazee yukazzibu biddeen

Answer 1

Have you seen the one who denies the ˹final˺ Judgment?

Question 2

Surah Ma’un Verse 2:

فَذَٲلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ ٢

Fazaalikal lazee yadu’ul-yateem

Answer 2

It is the one who mistreats the orphan

Question 3

Surah Ma’un Verse 3:

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ ٣

Wa la yahuddu ‘alaa ta’aamil miskeen

Answer 3

and does not encourage the feeding of the poo

Question 4

Surah Ma’un Verse 4:

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ ٤

Fa wailul-lil musalleen

Answer 4

So woe to those ˹hypocrites˺ who pray

Question 5

Surah Ma’un Verse 5:

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ ٥

Allazeena hum ‘an salaatihim saahoon

Answer 5

who are neglectful of their salah

Question 6

Surah Ma’un Verse 6 :

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ ٦

Allazeena hum yuraaa’oon

Answer 6

who (do good only to) show off,

Question 7

Surah Ma’un Verse 7:

وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ ٧

Wa yamna’oonal maa’oon

Answer 7

yet refuse to give (little) kindnesses
