Q

Origin,insertion,action and FD of trapezius

A

Origin: Superior nuchal line and external occipital protruberance and spinous process C7-T12. Nuchal runs from occipital protruberance to C7

Insertion: lateral 3rd clavicle, acronium and spine of scapula

Action:
Sup fibers: raises the scapula, rotates the scapula
Mid fibers: middle portion of spine to middle of scapula. Retracts the scapula
Inf fibers: Depress the scapula (pushes the shoulder down)

FD: Sup:inf-lat, Mid:lat, Inf:sup,lat
