I: Medial border of scapulae
A: draws scapula supermedially, elevate scapula
-rotates glenoid cavity & lateral flexion of neck, extension of neck

O: posterior tubercles of transverse processes of vertebrae c5-c7
I: external surface of rib 2
A: elevate the 2nd rib and tilt the neck to the same side

O: posterior tubercles of transverse processes of vertebrae c3-c5
I: sup border of rib 1
A: neck lateral flexion,elevates rib 1

O: sup surface of the transverse process of the occipital bone
I: inf surface of the jugular process of the occipital bone
A: stabilizes the atlanto occipital joint, head lateral flexion

I: lateral superior nuchal line of occipital bone and mastoid process
A: bilateral- extends head and neck
Unilateral- lateral flexion & rotation of head
