- Police don’t have to attend but will be likely too if looking for evidence/under investigation

When must coroner complete an inquest
A
Suicide, institutional death, cause of death hasn’t been fully established

Sudden death initial steps
A
- First aid if necessary
- Carry out initial scene examination
- Verify death has occurred - done by doc, nurse, ambo, midwife
- Obtain med cert by doc - if underlying illness
- Formally identify with N.O.K visually. (if unable to be done visually then done forensically)
- Remove deceased to mortuary
