Characterization
The way a writer reveals a character’s personality
Character traits
Another name for character qualities, such as actions, thoughts, or physical appearance
Conflict
Problem, faced by the main character
Internal conflict
Struggler problem a character has within him/her self
External conflict
A struggle or problem between a character and some other person or thing
Protagonist
The main character
Antagonist
This is the character or force who pushes against the protagonist
Setting
Describes time and place
Theme
Underlie meaning, or the moral of the story
Plot
This element describes what and how event happened in a way that tells a story
Resolution
This is when a story comes to an end
Point of view
First person, second person, and third person are examples of this element
Exposition
This is the beginning of the story, where we are introduced to the characters in the setting
Rising action
This part of the story is where the conflict began to develop
Falling action
This part of the story is, were the events begin to come to an end, and the conflict begins to be resolved
