Shi Hui San

Rx ingredients and details

A

Bleeding due to Heat in the Blood Level.
Fire Blazing in the Middle + Upper Jiao that injures the Blood Vessels.

Chief: Da Ji (Cirsii japonici Herba seu rx) + Xiao Ji (Cirsii Herba)cool the blood and stop bleeding while dispelling stasis.
Da Ji stops bleeding in top of body
Xiao Ji goes to Ub , stops bleeding in urinary tract (odd herb in Rx)

Deputies: He Ye (nelumbinis folium, lotus leaf) tertiary Fx to stop bleeding esp w heat and bleeding in ST (vomiting blood) - neutral
Ce Bai Ye (platycladi cacumen) upper body hot bleeding - sl cold
Bai Mao Gen (Imperatae Rhz) hot upper and lower body bleeding - cold
Qian Cao Gan (Rubiae Rx) any hot bleeding - cold
above deputies are used together to cool the blood and stop bleeding
Zong Lu Pi (Trachycarpi Petiolus) astringent to hold precious blood in vessels
All deputies work to clear heat that is source of problem while aslo stopping bleeding

Assistants: Zhi Zi + Da Huang - drain heat via urine and stool (respectively) enabling Qi and Fire to descend, LV to store blood, blood to stay in proper channels.
Mu Dan Pi - cools blood and clears blood stasis

prepared with either:
Lotus Root Juice - stop bleeding, dispel stasis
Radish Juice - encourage downward movement of Qi
Chinese Ink - stop bleeding and transform blood stasis

Sx: nose bleed, vomiting, spitting or coughing or bright red blood. Acute condition TONGUE: red PULSE: rapid

Ke Xue Fang

Rx details and ingredients

A

Hemoptysis due to LV Fire invading LU

Chiefs: Qing Dai (indigo naturalis) + Zhi Zi - clear LV fire, drain fire, and cool the blood

Deputies: Gua Lou Ren (tricosanthis semen) + Fu Hai Shi (costazae Os, pumice stone) cool and transofrm hot phlegm and reduce fire. Gua Lou Ren specifically moistens LU and stops cough. Fu Hai Shi softens what is hard for difficult to expectorate sputum 
He Zi (chebulae Fructus) cools LU and contains leakage of LU Qi 

Sx: coughin of blood streaked sputum, thick sputum difficult to expectorate, plus LV Fire Sx. TONGUE: red w yellow coat PULSE: wire and rapid

Jia Wei Xioa Yao San patient that starts coughing blood

Huai Hua San

Rx details and Ingredients

A

Hematochezia due to Intestinal Wind or Solid Organ Toxin

Chief: Huai Hua (sophorae flos) clears damp heat from Intestines, drains heat, clears intestines, cools blood, stops bleeding

deputies: Ce Bai Ye (platicladi cacumen) cools blood and stops bleeding, drys dampness w/o injuring yin
Jing Jie sui (schizonepetatae spica) enters blood level to stop bleeding, disperses wind, moves upwards and balances downward movement of Rx

Assistant: Zhi Ke - promo movement of Qi, relaxes intestines, enters blood level, directs downward - bran fried to push out accumulation

Sx: bright red bleeding from rectum, blood in stool, hemorrhoids TONGUE: red body PULSE: wire, rapid or soggy, rapid

Xiao Ji Yi Zi

Rx details and ingredients

A

Blood Dysuria caused by Heat in LJ

Chief: Xiao Ji (cirsii herba) cools blood and stops bleeding particularly in urine, promo urino by clearing DH from UB

Deputy: Pu Huang, Ou Jie (nelumbinis nodeus rhz) Sheng Di Huang cools blood and stop bleeding, transform stasis and nourish yin

Assistants: Hua Shi - clears heat, promo urino, unblocks painful urinary dribbling, slippery nature soothes urinary passageways and allows heat to pass
Mu Tong, Dan Zhu Ye, Zhi Zi - clear and drain fire from HT, LU and SJ, eliminate heat by conducting it downward
Dang Gui - nourishes and harmonizes blood, leads it back to channels, prevents stasis and moderates cool nature of other herbs

Envoy: Zhe Gan Cao - relieves spasmodic pain, harmonizes MJ, reconciles disparate actions of herbs

Sx: bloody, painful urine, blood in urine, along w thirst, irritability TONGUE: red, thin yellow coat PULSE: rapid, forceless

Dao Chi San expansion (Sheng Di, Mu Tan, Dan Zhu Yu, Zhi Zi, Gan Cao) - patient who’s HT heat has entered the SI and UB.
