Ba Zhen San

A

Downward flow of Damp-Heat into the Lower Jiao.
Re Lin - Heat Dysuria
Xue Lin - Bloody Dysuria

Sx: dark/turbid/scanty/difficult/painful urine ; dry mouth/throat ; maybe a reduction in urine and lower abdo distention.

TONGUE: yellow, greasy coat (particularly in the back 1/3)
PULSE: slippery, rapid

Chief: Qu Mai, Bian Xu ;
Deputy: Hua Shi, Che Qian Zi, Mu Tong ;
Asst: Zhi Zi, Da Huang ;
Envoy: Deng Xin Cao, Gan Cao.

Etiology: Dampness accruing in the MJ -> falling into the LJ and accumulating heat.

Qu Mai - Dianthi Herba - Drain Dampness; goes to the HT/UB/KD, drains damp, clears heat, breaks up blood stasis, promo urino.

Bian Xu - Polygoni Avicularis Herba - Drain Dampness; clears heat, drains damp, promo urino.

Hua Shi - Talcum - Drain Dampness; slippery to guide urine out.

Che Qian Zi - Plantaginis Semen - Drain Dampness; helps discharge damp heat via urine, tonifies SP a little, “poop to pee” herb.

Mu Tong - Akebia Caulis - Drain Dampness; damp/heat in the UB, drains heat, promo urino.

Zhi ZI - Gardenia Fructus - CH-Drain Fire; clear heat, promo urino.

Da Huang - clears heat through bowels AND urine.

Deng Xin Cao - Junci Medulla - Drain Dampness; guides heat out, promo urino.

Gan Cao - harmonize and relieve abdo pain

Er Miao San

A

Damp-Heat lodged in the Lower Jiao -or-
Damp-Heat attacking the lower half of the body

Sx: wide variety of CC; LBP, weakness/atrophy of the lower extremity; red/hot/swollen/painful feet/knees; thick/yellow/foul leukorrhea; sores due to damp. Along with Scanty yellow urine.

TONGUE: yellow, greasy coat
PULSE: slippery, rapid

Chief: Huang Bai
Deputy: Cang Zhu
(asst): ginger juice

Huang Bai - goes to LJ/KD/UB; bitter/cold to drain heat and drain damp.
Cang Zhu - eliminate dampness; transform it where it is; works internally and in the flesh.

ginger juice protects the ST and moderates cold of HB.

San Miao San + Niu Xi - guides to lower body and alleviates pain - more pain in damp presentation.

Si Miao San + Niu Xi + Yi Yi Ren - for edema and swelling for an actual accumulation of damp

Yin Chen Hao Tang

A

Yang Jaundice or Damp-Heat Jaundice

Sx: “fresh tangerine” skin color ; sl abdo distention ; urino difficulty ; thirst w no desire or ability to drink ; litttle/no sweat or sweat only from head

TONGUE: yellow, greasy coat
PULSE: slippery, rapid

Chief: Yin Chen Hao
Deputy: Zhi Zi
Asst: Da Huang

etiology: tai yang -> yang ming -> comingling w dampness of the SP -> yang jaundice
“External invasion that has lingered w/o resolve for 7 or 8 days”

Chief: Yin CHen Hao - Artemisiae Scopariae Herba - Drain Dampness; guide damp heat out through urino to stop jaundice.

Deptuy: Zhi Zi - guide damp heat out through urino.

Asst: Da Huang - clear the heat of yang ming - affinity to LV and heat is scorching LV. Can be Shu Da Huang or cooked longer depending on need.

San Ren Tang

A

Early stage Damp-Warmth affecting the Qi Level

Sx: HA (heavy, wrapped) ; Chills (unsurfaced heat, damp is obstructing the ability of the yang qi to warm the surface) ; achey Pain (damp obstructing qi and blood) ; pale-yellow complexion ; stifling sensation in chest ; loss of appetite ; absence of thirst.

TONGUE: white coat (less heat)
PULSE: wire, thin soggy

Xing Ren (UJ); Bai Dou Kou (MJ); Yi Yi Ren (LJ) ; Hou Po ; Ban Xia ; Hua Shi ; Tong Cao ; Dan Zhu Yu.

etiology: More damp than heat. Easily challenged SP/ST -> dampness accumulates

Gan Lu Xiao Du Dan

A

Warm Febrile Disorder or Seasonal Epidemic Diseases affecting the Qi Level (pestilential qi)

Sx: fever ; achey limbs ; lethargy ; stifling in chest ; adbo distention ; dark scanty urine.

TONGE: wite, greasey or yellow, dry coat
PULSE: soggy, rapid

Lian Qiao ; Haung Qin ; Chaun Bei MMu ; Hua Shi ; Hou XInag ; Bai Dou Ko ; Bo He ; She Gan ; Mu Tong ; Yin Chen Hao ; Shi Chang Pu

etiology: WH or Pestilential Qi -> wei Level -> Qi Level -> encumbered by environmental damp -> fire toxity or heat toxicity
