examples of binding methods

A
  • saddle stitch binding: thin books or notebooks. Threads or stables bind paper together: fast and cheap method for mass production
  • section sewn binding: printed, folded sheets sewn together to produce a high quality and secure form of binding. hard back books
  • perfect binding: softcover books. Pages are folded and glued into cover sheet to form spine
  • comb/spiral binding
    side binder: durable, plastic spine bars which slide over the edges of a stack of paper to hold it together

A

-split pin/paper fastener: pin is placed into a punched hole of sheets, brass legs then separated
- binder clip: metal clip holding sheets of paper together
-staple: durable metal fastener used with a stapler to attach sheets. heavy duty staples secure cardboard packaging
- paper clip: steel wire bent into a loop, creating two tongues.

A
  • tamper-proof sticker: labels that self destruct when peeled, used for valuable packages
  • peel and seal envelope: peel off strip to reveal adhesive and seal envelope shut
  • wax seal: dot of melted wax used to seal paper. pattern or crest can be pressed onto wax as a form of identity
  • gummed envelope: water soluble glue
