stats Flashcards
what does a P value of p
if the null hypothesis were true, the probability of obtaining results as or more extreme than those obtained = 0.05
We can either reject the null hypothesis, OR?
Fail to reject the null hypothesis
SMALL P values indicate what?
strong evidence AGAINST our NULL hypothesis
ie more likely that our value is significant
Z scores:
- if the z score is negative: which one used to find amount HIGHER than raw score
The INITIAL score found on the cum freq table. i.e before you minus it for being a negative number
Z scores:
- if the Z score is negative and want to find what is LOWER ?
1 - the z score
Z scores: if positive z score:
- which one for higher than?
- which one for lower than?
Higher = 1 - Z score Lower = the initial score found on the cum freq table
