What are the 3 phases when receiving an emergency? Explain them

A
  • Uncertain Phase (INCERFA)- uncertainty exists to the safety of the aircraft or passengers e.g. no communication after 30 mins, or failure to arrive within 30 mins of ETA
  • Alert Phase (ALERFA)- apprehension exists to the safety of the aircraft or passenger e.g. failure to land after 5 mins
  • Distress Phase (DETRESFA)- certainty that passengers or aircraft are in imminent danger
