Unless given permission, an aircraft should not be flown over congested areas in cities, towns or settlements, open-area assembly or persons

A

Expressed as flight level, which is above the lowest usable FL, and above the transitional level

What are the 5 Avoidance of Collisions (air) ?

A
  • Approaching head on- Each aircraft turns to the right
  • Overtaking- Aircraft being overtaken has right of way and overtaking should be done on the right of the other aircraft
  • Landing- When landing or in final approach aircraft has priority
  • Emergencies- All aircrafts must give way to aircraft in emergency
  • Converging- Aircraft on the right has right of way except for as follows:
    > Power-driven aircraft must give way to airships, gliders and balloons as well as other aircrafts that are towing
    > Airships must give way to gliders and balloons
    > Gliders must give way to balloons

What are the 5 Avoidance of Collisions (ground) ?

A
  • Approaching head on- Aircraft should stop or alter their course to the right if able to
  • Overtaking- Aircraft being overtaken has the right of way and overtaking should be done clear of the way
  • Converging- Aircraft on the right has right of way
  • Taxi-hold positions- Aircraft must stop and hold until given further instructions from ATC
  • Light bars- Aircraft must stop and hold until the lights are off meaning they can proceed
