What is it?
A
Eczema on the lower legs due to chronic venous hypertension

What does it indicate?
A
It is usually the earliest cutaneous sequelae of venous insufficiency

Who does it affect?
A
Usually elderly patients, rarely affects people before the 5th decade

Signs and Symptoms (5)
A
Previous history of venous thrombosis or varicose veins, haemosiderin deposits, itching, erythema, dry/flaky skin

What is the treatment? (5)
A
Emollient use, moderate topical steroid e.g Alclometasone, Support stockings, compression bandages, leg elevation
