What is the main focus of starting an analysis?

How can you upload data
- move it via a connector

What are the 4 steps to starting an analysis on Signavio?
- create a new process
- upload the event log
- upload the attribute log
- create your investigation
How do you create a new process?
Go to SAP Signavio > process intelligence (navigating to process page)
- click the create button and give it a process name
- now your process is ready to upload data
How to upload the event log?
- In the process settings drag & drop the event log file
- A new window will open to import the data
- for the time stamp column, select the format and click import
How to upload the attribute log?
- In the process settings drag & drop the attribute log file
- select which column contains case ID and select the tick box to confirm this isn’t the event log
- types for the columns can be adjusted as needed or kept the same (if no adjustments - select the ‘accept all suggestions’ top right link) , click import
How to create your investigation?
- go to investigations tab and click ‘new investigation’
- provide a name for investigation then click ‘go to investigation’
- it can now be visusalised in your investigation page
What is an investigation?
a direct visualization of the data that is stored in transactional systems
What is the purpose of an investigation?
gives insights into the changes needed to improve and optimize your process, covers ideally (only) one specific topic
What does an investigation start with?
Process discovery
What does a process represent?
transactional data
What does process discovery do?
gives insights into the different process variants from the most common path to non-conformance edge cases. aka. a visualization of all executed events from the event log
What is a chapter?
Chapters lead the investigation with text descriptions of aims, objections, findings, observations etc., and are part of the overall structure of an investigation
it allows a breakdown for clarity and filtering an investigation
