Standing 16-18 Months

A

(16-17) Carries toy during ambulation, pulls toy during ambulation
(18) Ambulates with reciprocal arm swing and heel strike
With assist: ambulates up stairs and down stairs one step at a time
Without assist: creeps up stairs and creeps or scoots down stairs
Begins to walk sideways
Transitions supine to stand
Balance on 1 foot
Step down stairs -> ready to “jump” off bottom stair

Standing 24 Months

A

Lateral weight shifts
Wide BOS
High guard-> mid guard -> low guard
Hips ER and hips/knees flexed-> hips/knees extend with added PF
Small steps -> increased step length
Slow speed -> increased speed
Decreased SLS time -> increased SLS time
Without assist: ambulates up and down stairs one step at a time
Jump of step with 2 feet
Balance on 1 foot for 3 seconds
Kick a large ball
Throw a small ball
Step over low objects
Begin to run (starting and stopping difficult)
Jumping: one foot leaves the ground then the other
