Stall Warning System Flashcards
If the L or R STALL WARNING caution light illuminates, what may have failed?
DC power failure
Lift tranducer failure
Lift computer failure
If the L or R STALL WARNING caution light illuminates, what else would you expect to see?
Speed control pointer on EADIs removed from display and a red X appear over the display
The L and R stall Warning has electrically independent sub systems. What are the components of these sub systems?
Lift computer Vane type lift tranducer Column shaker Speed control indicator Caution light
The L and R stall Warning systems use come common components/inputs. What are they?
Test switch
Heater switch
Flap indicator system
PSEU
How does the stick shaker work?
The lift tranducers transmit AoA info to their lift computers. The computers combine this info with flap position and internally generated accelerometer inputs to arrive at a stall speed threshold. The computers activate the stick shakers if the threshold speed is reached.
How does the 1.3vs indicator work
Similar to Stick shaker. The stall computer gets into from the lift tranducers, internal accelerometer and flap position to. The info is provided to the EADI to be displayed.
In a 300 series, there are 2 independent stall Warning/stick pusher computers. What are their inputs?
AHRS ADC Flap position Engine torque De ice system Raw AoA
When do the stick pusher and stick shaker activate?
Stick shaker activates when the AoA reaches the computers stall Warning reference
Stick pusher when the AoA reaches the reference stick pusher AoA
In a 300, what happens if an AoA sensor fails?
It’s associated STALL SYST FAIL and PUSHER SYS FAIL caution lights illuminate
How does stick pusher activation occur
When both computers agree the AoA exceeds the reference AoA a pneumatic actuator system uses nitrogen to apply a push force to the pilots elevator control quadrant.
