What does the international flight release form contain? Where can it be found? Who is it submitted to?
Contains checklists and considerations to assist crew in thoroughly preparing for an international flight. Found in OM2, aircraft library or Intranet. Submitted to the Chief Pilot’s office.
When considering possible engine failure scenarios, what should crew keep in mind? How is drift down data calculated?
High LSALTs overseas.
Drift down data is calculated from the AFM. Crew must be able to remain above LSALT by 1000ft in IMC or 2000ft clear of terrain within 2000ft in VMC.
Is an alternate required for international planning?
Yes for all international airports except Christmas, Cocos and Norfolk Islands.
Can international aerodromes be used as an alternate for normal mission flights?
Not unless specifically authorised as part of an international deployment of by OM.
The above doesn’t apply if in the case of an emergency the captain deems it necessary to divert to the international airport.
Is there any differences to the normal pre flight HF check?
Yes, SELCAL must also be checked

The entire aircraft call sign including Victor Hotel
If a crew lands at an international airport other than the intended destination or alternate, what are some things the crew should do and consider?
Report to CIQ (customs, immigration, quarantine) ASAP
Contact between passengers and outsiders is avoided
Equipment not unloaded
No food removed
What is the spray used to disinfect aircraft when arriving into Australia?
Callington pre spray and top of descent aerosol
