A
Pre term pre labour rupture of membranes after 24/40 and before 37/40 associated with increased risk of complications

What is the aetiology behind PPROM (9)
A
Largely unknown in most cases Smoking Diet Infection eg GBS Chlamydia bacterial vaginosis Human intervention eg too many VEs Bleeding Membrane stretching due to dilation Gradual weakening of membranes due to collagen remodelling and cell apoptosis Cervical clercage in situ Presenting part Increased uterine pressure

Lung maturation and development being effected
