SRO Tech Spec Systems Review Flashcards
Per TS 3.4.6, RCS Loops, what is required for Operability in Mode 4?
2 RCS or RHR loops
Per TS 3.4.7, RCS Loops Filled, What is required for Operability in Mode 5 with Loops Filled?
1 RHR loop
AND
1 more RHR loop OR 2 S/G water level 420” > WR level inst
Per TS 3.4.8, RCS Loops Drained, what is required for Operability in Mode 5 with Loops Drained?
2 RHR loops OPERABLE
with 1 RHR loop in operation
Per TS 3.5.2, ECCS Operating, what is required for Operability in Modes 1-3?
Two ECCS trains shall be OPERABLE
Per TS 3.5.2, ECCS Operating, what is required for an operable Train?
CCP/SI/RHR
Per TS 3.5.3, ECCS Shutdown, what is required for Operability in Mode 4?
1 ECCS train OPERABLE
Per TS 3.5.3, ECCS Shutdown, what is required for an operable Train?
CCP/RHR
SI is not required!
Per TS 3.9.4, Refueling RHR + Coolant Hi Level, what is required to be Operable in Mode 6 with ≥ 23 ft above the top of reactor vessel flange?
1 RHR loop OPERABLE
Per TS 3.9.5 Refueling RHR + Coolant Level Low, what is required to be Operable in Mode 6 with < 23 ft above the top of reactor vessel flange?
2 RHR loops OPERABLE with 1 RHR loop in operation
If the RWST is INOPERABLE per TS 3.5.4, RWST, must the actions for an inoperable ECCS System be performed?
If RWST is INOPERABLE, do NOT cascade Tech Specs to the ECCS Trains. Although the specs would NOT be met, per LCO 3.0.6, the actions of the RWST address it.
What is the basis for having ≥23 ft over irradiated fuel in racks per TS 3.7.14, SFP Level?
Minimum level meets the assumptions of iodine DF following a fuel handling accident.
If there is an inoperability of the 250 vDC system, what else should be considered?
ESW Train is INOP and other unit is affected with cross tie open
If the normal source of power (250 vDC) is out of service for a CRID, how is operability affected?
Inverter INOP, but CRID BUS is OPERABLE.
If a CRID is powered from CRP-3, how is operability affectd?
Inverter and Bus are bother INOP
What is the Tech Spec minimum level for the CST and the basis behind that level?
182,000 gallons to Maintain plant in hot sby for 9 hrs on PORVs w/LOOP
-OR-
Capability of holding the Unit in Mode 3 for 2 hrs followed by a 4 hr cooldown to RHR at 50°/hr
When MUST the TDAFP be operable when bringing a unit back online?
Mode 4 when SG is relied upon for heat removal. However… SR 3.7.5.2 is NOT required to be performed for the turbine driven AFW pump until 24 hours after ≥ 850 psig in the steam generator.
Per TS 3.1.1, SDM, what must be done is SDM is outside of the limits provided in the COLR when required?
Borate to restore (15 minutes)
What is the purpose of maintaining Seal Line Resistance per TS 3.5.5, Seal Injection Flow?
if too SMALL, ECCS injection flow may be less than required for core cooling during a LB LOCA
What are the electrical requirements for ESW per tech specs?
Required - 2 offsite sources + EDG + DC
Opp Unit - 1 offsite (EP must be I/S to count) + EDG + DC
What is the highest lake temperature allowed per TS 3.7.9, UHS?
86.9°F
How does the inoperability of an ESW Pump affect the Opposite Unit when cross-ties are open?
If ESW PUMP is INOP, EDG is INOP and opp Unit Hdr is INOP, so their EDG is INOP (cross-ties open)
How does the inoperability of an ESW header affect the Opposite Unit when cross-ties are open?
If Hdr is INOP, the PUMP could still be OPERABLE. If so, the other unit is not affected.
What is the basis of the Main Staem Safety Valves per TS 3.7.1, MSSVs?
Operability of SVs ensures secondary steam pressure will be limited to 110% of desired pressure during most severe anticipated operational transient
Per TS 3.7.4, SG PORVs, when is a SG PORV Operable?
Considered OPERABLE when capable of fully opening from control room
