Classify and discuss the causes of splenomegaly

A

Causes:
.Congestion- Persistence elevation of the splenic venous blood pressure

.infection- can either be, sytemic infection, bacterial infection, viral diseases, chronic malarial infection, granulomatous inflammation.

.Immune disorders- Rheumatoid arthritis and sytstemic lupus erythematosus

.Red blood cell abnormalities- Sickle cell anemia and hereditary spherocytosis

.Primary or metastatic neoplasms-

.Storage disorders

.Amyloidosis
