Spirometry Flashcards
1
Q
Peak Inspiratory Pressures
A
Spirometry measure pressures directly at the end of the ETT so it is more accurate than the readings on the ventilator
2
Q
Tidal Volume Insp/Exp
A
More sensitive to pressure changes. The difference between inspired and expired can indicate leaks which capnography may not pick up
3
Q
Peak End Expiratory Pressures
A
Only accurate way to measure PEEP
4
Q
Compliance
A
Can also measure lung compliance, can show drop in compliance that could be contributed to lung collapse or bronchoconstriction
