Arrhythmias Flashcards
Sinus Arrhythmia
Increase with inhalation, decrease with exhalation
1st Degree AV Block
Prolonged P to Q interval
2nd Degree AV Block
SA to AV impulse blocked from conducting the ventricles
3rd Degree AV Block
complete dissociation between AV node and ventricles, no relationship between P ad QRS complex
Sick Sinus Syndrome
Idiopathic dysfunction of SA node, random discharge or not at all
Not responsive to anticholinergics
Ventricular Premature Complex
Ventricles depolarising with out SA node influence
Positive = right ventricle
negative = left ventricle
Ventricular Escape Complex
when ventricles have not contracted for a prolonged period, they will conduct themselves
normally occur with bradyarrhythmia
no Lidocaine
Ventricular Tachycardia
four or more VPCs in succession with an increased HR
decreased filling time
Accelerated idiopathic ventricular rhythm
low Hr with four or more VPCs in succession
caused by: anaemia or opioids
Ventricular fibrillation
terminal arrest rhythm
