Describe primary and secondary containment for spill prevention?
Equipment that has 2 independent containments. Examples would be double wall fuel tank or invert storage tank.
Describe the steps you take to avoid spills on location?
Confirm fluid containment equipment is properly installed. Check that rig crews understand equipment and follow proper operating practices. Important that drip trays are used if available. WSL and crews must conduct regular walk-arounds to monitor containment and repair any leaks. Locations that are soft where equipment shifts will be tend to have leaks at pipe connections (air bladders, hammer unions, etc). Leaks must be reported timely to WSL and Husky Environmental. Important that causes of leaks are investigated and addressed.
