A

How is the First Rib mobility test performed?

A

Client Supine, place one hand just inferior to the medial clavicle on the first rib.
Place a second hand behind the first hand lateral to the spine and apply pressure anteriorly and posteriorly.

What is Orbicularis Oris Test and how is it performed?

A

Used to confirm Bell’s palsy.
Instruct client to keep Eyes closed seated / supine.
Gently try and open the clients eyes, if they cannot resist the action the client test positive for Bell’s Palsy.

What is Swallowing test used for and how is it Performed?

A

Used to determine whether or not the pain on swallowing is due to (Referred pain of SCM).
Client seated, palpate SCM in pincer grasp on the most tender point, then maintain pressure while client swallows.
If the pain goes away the client is positive for TP in the SCM.

What is Scalene Relief Test used for and how is it performed?

A

Used to assess for the precess of Active TP’s in the Anterior Scalene mm.
Client Seated, Instruct client to place forearm of the affected side across the forehead as close to the elbow as possible.
Elevate and Protract the shoulder, which lifts the clavicle, relieving any compression of the scalene and brachial plexus.
