Q

How to perform ant. load & shift

A

Stabilize shoulder & scapula
Grip humeral head with lumbrical grip
Re-center & then translate A/P
(Most ppl have more ant. mobility than post.)

Q

How to perform apprehension test

A

Supine
Shoulder and elbow at 90
Passive ER until signs or report of instability
Checks ant stability, especially if it feels better when u stabilize ant shoulder as u do it

Q

How to perform crank test (a SLAP test)

A

Seated or supine
Abduct in scaption & flex elbow to 90
Axial compression w IR & ER
click, catch, or reproduction of s/s indicate mechanical problem/SLAP tear

Q

Obrien SLAP test

A

Seated/standing
90 shld flex & 15 horizontal add w full IR
resistance to distal forearm
Look for click, catch, or reproduction of s/s
Retest in supination
RC or AC joint can produce false +

Q

How to perform Yergasons

A

Seated w elbow flexed to 90, forearm neutral
Resist ER & supination
Pain or snapping in bicipital groove
(Looks like closing a door)

Q

How to perform Neer test

A

Seated, shld at side in full IR
Stabilize scap & move through flex ROM
Reproduction of s/s

16
Q

Kennedy Hawkins

A

Seated, flex shld to 90 degrees scap plane
Elbow at 90
Stabilize elbow & passively IR to end range
Reproduction of s/s, look for pain not limited ROM

17
Q

RC tear tests (rotator cuff)

A

Drop arm

IR/ER lag

18
Q

Drop arm test

A

Seated
Passively abd shoulder to 90
Remove assistance
They will be unable to maintain abd if RC is torn

19
Q

How to perform IR/ER Lag test

A

Seated
Arm down and passively moved into IR & ER
Remove assist to see if they can maintain position
If RC is torn they will be unable to

20
Q

Post instability test

A

Jerk test

21
Q

How to perform jerk test

A
Seated, stabilize scap, flex shld and wlbow
to 90
IR shld w axial compression
Horizontally add arm
Look for click,pop, catch,or laxity
