SP1: Maths, Handwriting Flashcards
1.Do/Did you learn maths in secondary schools in Vietnam?
Yes, of course. Maths is one of the compulsory subjects in school curriculum in Vietnam. Even though I didn’t have a good head for algebra, I excelled in geometry. Besides, this subject is also fundamental to my current job, which is a business owner.
2.Do you think maths is difficult?
Definitely! Since I’ve never been good with numbers, I usually miscalculate something. When I was still at school, I usually had bad scores on my Math test. Even until today, I’m not entirely confident to do all the accounting for my business, I always have someone double-check with me.
3.What do you think people can do with maths in their daily life?
Well I guess there are many ways that people can make use of maths in everyday situations. As mentioned above, for someone like me, I can apply the knowledge I’ve obtained from Math into calculating the cashflow for my business. In addition, Maths is also of great importance in architecture and construction since those fields require a lot of measurement.
4.Do you learn maths now? Why/why not?
Like I said above, it wasn’t and still isn’t my favorite subject. Nevertheless, as it’s the basis for my career, I have to continue broadening my knowledge of different functions and models to run my business efficiently.
Do you often write with a pen?
Yes, of course. Since I’m a university student, I often have to jot down some notes from the lectures. Besides, writing with a pen also helps me concentrate more on the lessons, which I find immensely effective.
Can we tell someone’s personality from his or her handwriting?
I couldn’t agree more/Yes for me it speaks volumes. As a child, both my parents and teachers always told me to practice writing neatly as it would form my personality along the way. If someone has legible handwriting, chances are that he is also and organized person and goal-oriented, while a person whose penmanship is messy, they tend to be clumsy.
What do you think is the difference between writing with a pen and typing on a computer?
Well, I would say it’s the feeling that you usually associate with using a pen to write. It is true for me, especially when I have to send an invitation and express my gratitude in a formal way. Nevertheless, it’s undeniable that typing on electronic devices like a computer is much faster and more convenient.
Is your handwriting easy to read for other people?
I can proudly say that I have legible penmanship, while most of my classmates have terrible handwriting. Whenever we have a group proposal for one of our classes, my teammates always tell me to write on their behalf.
