He was a leading member of A.N.C. He believed in non-violent protests. He became the first Southern African president.

A
He was elected president in 1989. He released Nelson Mandela from prison and took away the ban on A.N.C. He won a Nobel Peace Prize with Mandela.

A
It started in the 1950’s and they actively fought apartheid. Their goal was to get rid of it.
