sound is air particles vibrating and they pass on the vibration to other air particles until someone hears it.

A
sound travels faster in solids than liquids and gases because in a solid there are more particles to vibrate but liquids and gases have less particles which makes less vibratios.

sound does not travel in space because there are no particles in space.
