A

Used to maximise humourous effect, create mood, emphasise plot points and provide narrative foreshadowing. Non-diegetic electronic sound stings are used to disguise edits and transfer energy to the following scene creating comic juxtapositions

How were the sound designers inspired?

A

Woodhead and Mudford referenced Italian zombie films in their original score and used sound cues from Dawn of the Dead - this pays homage to the zombie genre and acts as a cue to spectator emotion

How is diegetic sound using in the Winchester Pub sequence to generate humour?

A

Everyone attacks the zombies with pool cues and the diegetic music of don’t stop me know plays in time as they attack providing humility, also used in conjunction to create a sense of rhythm.
