State the purpose of SORM
Standard Organization and Regulations Manual - It’s purpose is to issue regulations and guidance governing the conduct of all members of the US Navy
Discuss the dual chain of command (Administrative/Operational) for operating forces
An operational chain from the President, through the SecDef to a commander of a unified command to the assigned operational forces. An administrative chain through the SecNav and CNO and outside the chain of command of the unified command structure.
What is a unified command?
It is composed of 2 or more services. It has a broad continuing mission and a single commander. (Joint Forces Command, Transportation Command, Strategic Command)
What do Functional Wing Commanders do?
Responsible for the aircraft material readiness, administration, training, and inspection of squadrons under their command
What do Type Squadron Commanders do?
Responsible for the maintenance and material condition of aeronautical equipment assigned to their cognizance for the operation and support of the mission. Also coordinate the NAMP.

What is an OPREP?
Operation Report, used by any unit to provide the NCA and appropriate naval commanders with immediate notification of any accident or unauthorized incident involving a possible detonation of a nuclear weapon which could create a nuclear war.
What is a MOVEREP?
Movement Report, the primary source of location information concerning ships.
What is a LOGREQ?
Logistical Requirements, submitted by a ship prior to entering a port to notify the proper commands of its logistics requirements while visiting that particular port.
What is SORTS?
Status of Requirement and Training Support, repots the ship’s status of conditions of readiness in all warfare areas in our ability to conduct operations
What is a SITREP?
Situation Report, provides appropriate operational commanders with timely notification for any incident not meeting OPREP-3 special incident reporting criteria.
What is ROC/POE?
Required Operational Capabilities and Projected Operational Environment are what the Navy uses to project what assets are needed where and how much
