Q

Ph effect on solubility: what happens if you decrease ph in mg(oh)2

A

Oh decrease and equilibrium shifts to the right. So more products, more soluble

8
Q

What is supersaturation?

A

Adding too much salt to water and crystals are left at the bottom. If add a crystal to the solution, solution solidifies to crystal structure

Q

What to do for predicting precipitation questions

A

Find the final concentrations of the end product in question, then find q and check if greater than K

Q

What to do for common ion solubility

A

Add up the concentrations of the common ion (0.1 M br2 turns into 0.2) then find x for the ice table.

Through x, find the concentration of the solid and then divide by litres to find mols
