What is Residual soil?
Residual soil is such soil which remains in their origin and not transported to other areas with water and air. The soil of plateaus and mountain valleys can be called residual soil.
What is Transported soil?
Transported soil is such soil which is transported to other areas with water and air. The soil of plain areas can be called transported soil because it is transported with water from hilly slopes.
Why is the soil of all regions not the same type?
There are numerous reasons why soil differ regionally. The most influential factors include the parent material, the climate and terrain of the region, the type of plant life and vegetation present, and human influence.
What are the reasons for losing the fertility of soil?
The reasons for losing the fertility of soil include: (i) Water logging and salinity, (ii) Cutting of forests, (iii) Industrial waste, (iv) Population explosion, (v) Overuse of fertilizers & pesticides and insecticides.
What is Khaddar soil or Beat soil?
Khaddar soil or Beat soil is such soil which is present along with the present river beds. This soil has a dark brown color, is very fertile, and suitable for every type of crop. It is also called flood soil.
What is Banger soil?
Banger soil is such soil which is present away from the present river beds. This soil has a dark brown color, is very fertile, and suitable for every type of crop. It is also known as soil doabs.
What type of soil is found in the upper and lower Indus plain?
The soil of lower and upper Indus plain is very rich fertile soil called Bongar soil and Khaddar soil. It is carried out by the river material of five rivers of Pakistan, and organic matter is less in it.
What types of soil are found in the Potawar Plateau?
The soil found in Potwar plateau in Punjab and Baluchistan plateau in Baluchistan is characterized by a hot and dry climate with low rainfall. The color of the soil is black, has fewer organic matters due to less vegetation, low moisture, and is less fertile.
What are the four basic factors to form soil?
The basic factors to form soil are: (0) Basic parent material, (i) Physical structure, (ii) Climate, (iv) Water.
What is fertile soil?
Fertile soil is such soil in which all the components like water, organic matters, salts & minerals, and air are present in suitable ratios. Fertility depends on suitable ratios of parent materials, climate, physical features, and water availability.
What type of soil is found in the upper and lower Indus plains?
In Pakistan, the soil of upper and lower Indus plain is composed of material carried out by the Indus River and its tributaries. It is rich fertile soil with a brown color, suitable organic matter, and high moisture due to rivers and canals. This soil is called Alluvial or Alluvium.
