A

The plain area of Pakistan which is irrigated by the five tributaries of river Indus i.e. Bias, Sutlej, Ravi, Chenab and Jhelum is called upper Indus plain. That is why this part is called Punjab meaning five waters or land of five rivers. It is also known as province of Punjab.
