Socially sensitive research:
Research that has social consequences and may offend and cause harm to people of certain cultures.
Positives:
By understanding the concept of social sensitive research, researches can avoid and allow for useful applications that may not have been accessible
Negatives:
Ethical issues- can be distressing/ upsetting to hear that your culture has been categorised in a certain way (feelings of exclusion)
Interpretation and Application of findings:
How the findings will be applied to the real-world. Findings of Yerke’s study concluded in him stating that they were a nation of “morons”- very offensive
The Research question:
Research question needs to be worded carefully, for example: are there racial differences in IQ? Or is intelligence inherited? These ca be very damaging to certain groups
