Whats situationism?
A behavior that depends on an environmental factor or our surroundings
What is dispositionism?
Is a behavior that depends on internal factor such as personality traits and beliefs.
What is fundamental attribution error?
Its assuming that someones behavior depends on dispositionism and not on situationism.
What is individualist culture?
Cultures that care more about achievements and goals. They tend to have fundamental attribution errors.
What is collectivist culture?
Culture who care more about relationships and community.
What is actor observer bias?
Its when you assume someones behavior depends on dispositionism and that your behavior depends on situationism.
Explain the locus control (internal and external)
Its the persons view or opinion on the cause of an outcome from an event. Internal is believing the cause of something was because of you.
External is believing the cause was someones or somethings fault.
Explain the stability (stable and unstable)
When the result of an outcome is changeable.
Stable is when you believe the outcome was easy because of the ability.
Unstable is when you believe the outcome was easy because someone made it easy.
Explain controllable (controllable and uncontrollable)
When the result of the outcome can be controlled.
Controlled is when you did something for the outcome to have a specific result.
Uncontrollable is when you didn’t do anything to have a specific result.
What is a just word hypothesis?
When people believe that good people will have positive outcomes in the world and that bad people will have negative outcomes.
What is a social role?
A social role is a pattern of behaviors that are expected from people.
EX: a student, parent, teacher…
What are social norms?
Social norms are behaviors the social roles are expected to have.
What is a script?
A script is knowing what is going to be the outcome of a specific event.
What are the e component of attitude and the explanation of them?
Affect: Its the emotional reaction
Cognitive: It consists on facts and beliefs. Facts is what is actually true and beliefs are what you may think is true but its not.
Behavior: What happens after based on the affect and cognition.
What is cognitive dissonance?
Its when your thoughts, beliefs and opinions don’t align together and that makes you feel discomfortable.
