Conditioning and learning Flashcards
What are the 3 ways of learning?
- Classical conditioning
- Instrumental operant conditioning
- Observational learning
How dose classical conditioning work?
Its when a stimuli is associated to a specific event.
What is instrumental operant conditioning?
Its when a specific behavior is associated to the happening of an event.
What is observational learning?
Its just learning things by looking at it.
What are the 3 aspect of observational learning?
- Attention: In order to learn you need to pay attention.
- Retention: To retain information we need to actually have a memory of what we are learning.
- Motivation: To learn we need to engage ourselves.
What is an unconditioned stimuli?
Its what naturally triggers a response.
What is unconditioned response?
Its the response that happens because of a stimulus.
What is conditioned stimuli?
It only becomes a stimuli when its repeated so much that it starts to have an association to unconditioned stimulus.
What is a conditioned response?
Its the response that will happen after the association has been made in our organism.
What is taste aversion conditioning?
Its when we associate something we dislike to the consequences of it.
What is fear conditioning?
Its what associates peoples disorders to places or things.
What is extinction?
When the conditioned stimuli is eliminated because its repeated without the unconditioned stimuli.
What is renewal effect?
Its when the conditioned stimuli can come back in another location or in a new context.
What is a positive punishment?
Its adding something undesirable in order to decrease something desirable.
What is negative punishment?
Taking away something undesirable to get something desirable.
