- The PH is the leader of the party with the elected majority. He is appointed by the Governor General. He is Canada’s Head of Government.

The biggest key to a strong democracy is a strong voter turn out. The elected majority should have to be held accountable to a strong opposition, and they should have to be held accountable to the people as well.
What are three differences between the Canadian Government and the American Government?
1- Head of State is the Queen who is represented by the Governor General (Canada). Head of State is the president (USA).
2- Canada is a Constitutional Monarcy: power is limited by the Constitution. The USA is a republic.
3- There is no fixed term. If ther is a loss of confidence, a new election can be called (Canada). President and Senate members are elected for a fixed term. It is hard to get rid of someone once they are in power (USA).
