SLT focuses on how you learn behaviour and includes the role of internal mental processes

Behaviour is learnt from the environment

SLT does not regard the influence of genetics on behaviour

When a person imitates the behaviour of an individual that they see as a model
Vicarious reinforcement definition ?
When a person sees the reinforcement that the model is receiving but they themselves are not receiving anything.

The children who had observed aggressive behaviour acted more aggressively when observed
- boys acted more aggressively than girls
- there was greater level of imitation if same gender as the model

- effects of SLT is only short term and it is difficult to see any long term effects
- issues with interpreting the behaviour as most people would hit a bobo doll as that is its purpose which affects validity
